Recycle, Re-use and Create! Holiday Gift Ideas

Ok, so I'm already thinking about holiday gifts for this year.  It may be a little early but I've decided to make all of the presents I'm giving.  Times are tough as we know so what's better than re-purposing and giving all those gifts a personal touch!

So far I've gotten a few things worked out.  For my brother and sister in law I've decided to make them place mats and coasters from the paper bags I have from the grocery store.  I've been looking at the bags for months wondering what to make and this is what I came up with for now.

For the baby boys (18 months and 2 years old)  I wanted to make them something they will love so I made them sock monkeys.  Sock monkeys were a popular thing to make kids  in the 50's and you can make them out of any socks you have in your sock drawer!  It is preferable to use longer socks with a cool pattern.  Traditionally they were made with brown socks with a white and red heel.

This is the first one I've ever made.  It's almost finished but still needs a mouth.
This is the pattern I used.  I found it online.

New Found Treasures

My boyfriend and I love to collect and hunt for treasures.  He's taught me a lot of what I know about vintage goodies and these are our newest finds!
